Ref: 42 Date Posted: Wednesday 24 Feb 2021

Vero is delighted to be partnering exclusively with our very good friends at Ashton McGill to recruit an exceptional accountant for their growing team. This represents a truly unique opportunity to join Xero’s Small Firm of the Year 2020, with the aim of providing unrivalled levels of accounting support. The successful individual will work alongside a fantastic group of like-minded individuals who all share a common goal; to help people by building better businesses.

This role can be worked on a fully remote basis. Although Ashton McGill are based in Dundee, they are happy to accept applications from anyway in the UK. Flexible, remote working is woven into their DNA so as long as you enjoy Zoom, don’t let location be a barrier.

So, who are Ashton McGill?

Not your typical accountant. Back in 2013, they began life as a design agency, but the services they provide today were born out of a mutual need for change. As business owners they were dissatisfied with the way the accounting industry operated.

So, in 2017, the founders decided to conduct extensive research into what people really wanted from their accountant and a new business model started to take shape. Using co-founder Alasdair’s wealth of accounting and financial expertise, and son Andy’s marketing and design experience, Ashton Mcgill the accounting business was born.

Their ”Why”?

They love helping people.

At Ashton McGill, they’re passionate about people, and frustrated by the way many organisations behave today; they’ve forgotten about compassion, about empathy, about treating people well. Ashton McGill believe that when we actually do all of those things; when we know Why we do what we do and share that, then amazing things start to happen.
