Vero has been engaged exclusively by an international energy services company to recruit an experienced Accountant to manage the day to day finances of two of their leading service lines. Applications are welcomed from both part and fully qualified accountants. The role is being offered on a 9-12 month fixed term contract.
Reporting to the Operations Finance Manager, the Accountant will provide support to the UK finance team and be responsible for the preparation of accurate and timely management accounts and reports. Working within the UK team to ensure reporting, forecasting and invoicing objectives are met this role will provide day to day financial support to two service lines.
Key responsibilities:
- Preparation and reporting of management accounts
- Preparation of budgets and forecasts for business area
- Preparation of financial analysis compared to budget/forecast
- Preparation of customer profitability analysis
- Introduction and amendment of processes to improve system benefits, reporting, working capital management and deliver financial KPI targets
- To question and challenge current processes and assumptions within the business area
- Provision of financial information to operational areas and increasing the financial understanding of operational managers
- Working with operational teams to deliver business and financial improvements
- Preparation of accurate and relevant balance sheet account reconciliations in a timely manner
- Understanding of customer contracts and operational/financial drivers
- Working with Commercial team to support tenders/pricing activities
- Delivery of audit schedules and liaison with auditors
- Effectively assisting and coaching colleagues in operational and finance teams
- Implementation and adherence to financial controls
