Vero has been appointed by a leading offshore energy facilities company to recruit an operationally focused accountant into the role of Cost Accountant.

Who are we looking for:
Applicants should be professionally qualified, although consideration will also be given to candidates progressing through either ACCA or CIMA. Experience in cost control and budgeting, ideally within the energy industry is preferable. Could suit an operationally focused management accountant who is looking to gain deeper operational and commercial involvement. Our client is also open to considering qualified accountants in practice considering a more business facing role in industry.
The role:
Reporting to the Finance Manager, the UK Cost Accountant will be responsible for ensuring that robust cost management procedures are in place, high quality budgets/reforecasts are prepared and that reimbursable costs are recharged to customer in a timely manner.
Due to the nature of this role, the UK Cost Accountant will enjoy a varied workload with the ability to build relationships across all levels, including the UK Management Team, budget holders and Corporate Finance. You will also build strong cross-functional relationships and provide support to other departments in terms of financial issues. In addition, due to the nature of our client’s UK’s business, you will liaise regularly with the customer and outside vendors.

For the successful individual, this role could progress into a more senior position in future.
