E&P Business Analyst - Aberdeen

Vero has been exclusively appointed by a leading independent oil and gas company in Aberdeen to recruit an ambitious and driven Business Analyst to provide critical corporate finance support to the Head of Growth & Strategy.


Who are we looking for?


You may be working in a leading chartered accountancy firm and be seeking a highly visible and progressive commercial finance role. Audit, Transactions Services and Corporate Finance backgrounds may be suitable if coupled with the right attitude and desire to learn. You might be working in an analytical and numerical role in industry – again, you are encouraged to apply.


You must be degree qualified in a financial, commercial, engineering, science, legal or business discipline. You must be a highly numerate problem solver accustomed to using your own initiative to find solutions. The successful candidate will have high levels of drive and ambition with the ability to take direction and to work autonomously.

The role:


Reporting to the Head of Growth and Strategy, this newly created position will provide analysis and support for several key workstreams for the business, including the development of a decommissioning business unit and potential M&A activity.




• Assist with the development of a new company decommissioning proposition

• Strategic analysis of business opportunities

• Facilitation of company involvement in M&A processes

• Detailed financial and economic modelling involving close interaction with corporate finance and business planning teams

• Preparation of summary materials, presentations and reports

• Ad-hoc involvement with business development and other strategic initiatives as required
