Finance Business Partner - Aberdeen

The role:

 

Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Finance Business Partner will predominately be responsible for leading the collation of project information with colleagues in the Operations team to ensure the accurate recognition of cost and revenue across numerous projects. This will form a key part of the monthly reporting and payroll processes.

 

Responsibilities:

 

• Partnering with colleagues in the Operations and Crewing teams, both domestically and internationally to ensure accurate and timely reporting of project information

• Ensuring project spreadsheets are being kept up to date

• Preparation of payroll input information for outsourced payroll provider for offshore payrolls, checking accuracy of draft payroll and the allocation of the costs to the correct projects

• Preparation and posting of monthly journals including payroll costs, depreciation, prepayments and accruals

• Prepare and distribute project P&L reports ahead of meetings with Project Managers to finalise the project results and KPI’s

• Partner with Operations team to identify and implement improvements in the existing process to ensure accuracy and completeness of personnel days, revenue and cost recognition

• Preparation of Balance Sheet reconciliations

• Preparation of monthly VAT returns

• Preparation of information to support the annual audit process

 

Who are we looking for:

 

• Strong academic achievements with a university degree in a relevant subject

• Part or fully qualified accountant

• Previous experience working in a project/ contract based industry, ideally within a business partnering/operationally focused role
