Vero has been appointed to recruit a Finance Director for a leading energy services company based in Aberdeen.  Our client is an advanced technology company who deliver unrivalled services to their clients through innovation and by empowering their employees.

Our client was established over 10 years ago following the consolidation of several leading technology companies. Several acquisitions saw our client emerge as the leader in their field, providing a range of critical services to their upstream clients.


Operating globally, our client continues to expand their reach through the development of new technologies. Due to their exceptional track record, our client has recently been acquired by a major international industry player, which will provide them with the resources to continue to expand their services into new markets.


The opportunity:


To join an industry leading, global energy services business during a critical growth phase, in a highly visible, operationally focussed Finance Director role.


The role:


Reporting to the Group Vice President of Financial Planning & Analysis with an indirect reporting line to the entity CEO, the Finance Director is accountable for the administrative, financial, and risk management operations of the company.


This will include the financial and operational strategy, metrics tied to the company strategy, and the ongoing development and monitoring of control systems designed to preserve company assets and report accurate financial results.


In addition, in order to take advantage of the company’s Global hub structure, the Finance Director will be responsible for some support service function heads in order to drive efficiency and cost effectiveness across the headquarter function.


The Finance Director has responsibility for nine direct reports across Finance (seven), Legal (two) and also IT which is outsourced.


Who are we looking for:


To be considered for this unique opportunity you will be a professionally qualified accountant with a minimum of five years’ experience in a senior financial role, ideally within an international oil and gas environment.


The successful applicant will have demonstrable experience in partnering with management groups and driving change, strong interpersonal skills, strong problem solving skills, and the ability to operate with a very high level of integrity.


The Finance Director will demonstrate leadership, initiative and persistence to accomplish goals and objectives and provide direction in a fast paced environment.
