Finance Manager (Part time) - Aberdeen

Vero has been appointed by a family run, locally owned business with a rich heritage spanning over a century to recruit a Finance Manager on a part time basis.

This position is ideally suited to an experienced Accountant/ Finance Manager who thrives in a SME environment. We welcome applications from individuals who possess the relevant skills, experience and behaviours, whether you are a fully

You will also have the ability and desire to critically appraise current processes, identify areas for improvement and effect change in a planned and managed way.

 

Role overview:

 

The Finance Manager will be responsible for maintaining the company financial accounting systems, ensuring the timely and accurate recording and management of all payments and receipts and taxes; and preparation of monthly income and expenditure statements.

 

Key tasks:

 

• Co-ordinate the activities of the small accounting team, so as to maintain the accurate and timely recording of all transactions

• Sales Ledger – ensure all sales invoices are raised in a timely manner, remittances allocated, queries and adjustments resolved, and overdue balances followed up

• Purchase Ledger – ensure that purchase invoices recorded, query resolution, and scheduling of payments

• Payroll – operation of weekly and monthly payroll and pension payments

• Nominal Ledger – reconciliation and monthly income and expenditure

• Fixed Asset Register – support development and maintenance

• Assist in the preparation of the year-end statutory accounts, and compilation and communication with external audit

• Ensure that correct and timely submission of all statutory returns (PAYE, VAT, ONS, etc.)

• Assist in maintaining positive relations with the bank and any other providers of corporate finance

• Projects – assist in the continuous improvement in financial systems to improve the efficiency, accuracy and value of the financial information

• Undertake all reasonable tasks/projects as requested

 

Working hours:

 

Part-time and flexible, likely from 25-30 hours per week but open to discussion. Opportunity to operate a hybrid working pattern
