Vero Recruitment has been exclusively appointed by a well-regarded local charity to appoint an experienced Finance Manager on a part-time, interim basis. This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone who enjoys working closely with purpose-driven organisations and can bring structure, clarity, and confidence to the finance function.
The opportunity:
This role will see you take ownership of the day-to-day finance operations while supporting the senior leadership team with clear, timely financial insight. You’ll play a key role in ensuring robust financial controls and helping the organisation navigate a period of transition.
Key responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including purchase/sales ledger, bank reconciliations, and payroll
- Prepare monthly management accounts with clear commentary for non-finance stakeholders
- Manage cashflow forecasting and budgeting processes
- Ensure compliance with charity accounting standards and regulatory requirements
- Lead on VAT returns and year-end preparation, liaising with external advisors/auditors
- Support senior leadership with ad hoc financial analysis and decision-making
Who are we looking for:
- Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, CA or equivalent) or qualified by experience
- Proven experience in SME or charity environments, ideally in a standalone or small team role
- Strong technical grounding with the ability to translate numbers into meaningful insight
- Hands-on, proactive, and comfortable operating in a part-time capacity
- Strong systems experience (e.g. Xero, Sage or similar)
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach
