The role:
Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Financial Accountant will play a central role in external financial reporting for the subsea services division. This includes coordinating the collection, analysis and consolidation of financial data and ensuring the accuracy, integrity and compliance of statutory accounts and audit processes.
The Financial Accountant will take ownership of overhead accounting, partnering with budget holders to support budgeting, reforecasting and cost analysis.
Collaboration is key: the role works closely with the Internal Reporting Controller, providing ongoing support and stepping in to provide cover when required.
This is a broad, hands-on role in a complex, fast-moving business — ideal for a newly qualified accountant seeking progression, visibility and exposure to a wide range of commercial and technical finance matters.
Key responsibilities include:
• Day-to-day management of the external audit process, acting as first point of contact for all queries
• Preparation of statutory accounts and coordination of data for tax analysis
• Full ownership of overhead accounting (excluding personnel costs)
• Working closely with budget holders on reporting, budgeting and reforecasting
• BCR analysis and preparation of narrative for internal reporting packs
• Supporting month-end Balance Sheet integrity checks and review
• Providing support and cover to the Internal Reporting Controller
• Assisting the Financial Controller with technical accounting matters, controls and process improvements
• Supporting the tax assistant with monthly VAT returns
Who we’re looking for:
You will be a professionally qualified accountant with strong financial data handling skills and advanced Excel capability. You’ll be comfortable working independently while also thriving in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team environment. Suits a recently qualified accountant considering a first move into industry.
Clear, confident communication is essential, as the role interacts with colleagues across finance, operations and engineering.
You should be proactive, organised and able to manage multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional accuracy and attention to detail.
