Financial Analyst - Aberdeen

Ref: 148 Date Posted: Sunday 19 Mar 2023

Vero has been appointed exclusively by a leading international energy services company to recruit an ambitious finance professional into the role of Financial Analyst.

Our client:

Our client is expanding its role in green energy and are actively pursuing opportunities in this area to implement renewable energy as an integral part of the business going forward. This focus on the energy transition is a key part of our client’s strategy, whilst continuing to expand and to develop their industry leading market position in oil and gas.

Following several strategic acquisitions during the past few years, our client is well placed to capitalise on future growth opportunities.

We have supported our client for over 15 years, recruiting a high number of key positions across their finance function. They are known as a progressive employer who offer hybrid and flexible work, first-class career progression, and a friendly and collegiate culture.

The opportunity:

To join a truly market leading business working alongside a team of experienced industry experts, offering a stimulating and challenging working environment in a highly visible role.

The role:

The role of Financial Analyst is extremely varied and will provide you with an excellent overview of our client’s organisation, both locally and internationally. This will include good networking opportunities into all areas of the business, including interaction with various departments, business units and external banks.

The Financial Analyst will enjoy a varied role, with significant involvement in Refinancing, FX Analysis and Hedging, M&A/Investment opportunities, Banking, Cash Management, and special project work.

Quite specific to the role is the relationships with external banks. The company is active in the banking environment and in 2022 began the process of acquiring a major business based in the Middle East.

More recently, the department has been focussing on efficiencies and actively pursuing opportunities to drive the department forward in areas such as FX analysis.

Our client also takes great pride in fostering an environment which promotes a good work life balance despite the fast-paced and commercial nature of the work.

Who are we looking for:

You will be a first class communicator with the ability to build positive working relationships across the group, both locally and internationally. The successful individual will thrive in a project focused environment with extensive stakeholder management responsibilities.

Experience of doing this type of role previously is not an expectation at all – there is strong senior support within the team and ample training. Key attributes are Excel skills, intellect, and problem solving ability. The role is incredibly varied and is not a technical accounting role (this is covered by another part of the team).

In return our client offers an industry leading benefits package which includes the ability to finish at lunch on a Friday.
