Vero Recruitment has been exclusively engaged by a leading international energy service company in Aberdeen to recruit a Financial Analyst. Suits an ambitious, analytical, data-focused finance professional looking for a progressive opportunity.

The role:

Reporting to the Finance and Reporting Manager, the Financial Analyst will be required to manage the reporting to parent Group, for all entities and regions.

Encompassing P&L, BS reporting/analysis and ratio analysis, the Financial Analyst will act as the focal point for our client as they report to the parent Group.

Additionally, the Financial Analyst will support parent led initiatives such as internal audit, SAP transition and other ad-hoc initiatives.

The Financial Analyst will analyse and provide a range of critical information and data to be used by a range of senior stakeholders. This will require strong analytical skills, as well as first class communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Assist in reporting to parent Group, being the focal point to send and receive requests for P&L/BS, ratio and country analysis
  • Detailed drill down into P&L, and country level costs to support parent finance personnel in understanding month to month movements on requested accounts
  • Liaising with parent finance personnel and internal finance leadership team on a routine basis managing, relaying and prioritising requests to ensure Internal finance leadership team aware of and completed requirements
  • Support the internal management reporting needs in busy periods (month-end/internal reporting/journal processing
  • Support the external financial reporting needs in busy periods (year-end/quarter and interim audit)
  • Supporting internal audit: Supporting the internal audit process from start to finish. Providing evidence, attending meetings, closing out queries for Parent led I.A
  • Assisting in other ad-hoc request

 

Who are we looking for:

  • Previous experience as a Management Accountant or Financial Analyst (in particular, suits a management accountant who is looking for a more analytical, value-adding role)
  • Experience gained working for an international Group
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload to meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to use initiative and work independently in an international finance role
  • Good knowledge and competency in Microsoft Office especially Excel
  • Strong communication skills, able to liaise with varying levels of management and effectively manage expectations
  • Up-to-date knowledge of accounting principles and Internal Audit frameworks
  • Ability to plan, control and take responsibility for own work and related decisions
  • Problem solving approach and keenness to see problems through to completion
  • Strong ability to perform well under pressure of a high and varied workload, tight deadlines and changing job priorities
  • Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and systems
