Vero has been exclusively appointed by leading independent Scottish brand to recruit a Financial Controller to be based in their Aberdeen headquarters.

Who is our client:

Our client is a leading Scottish company; a trusted household name who are part of the communities in which they operate. The business has scaled significantly over the years by acquiring key competitors in target areas.

Backed by a leading PE firm, our client has a track record of successful M&A activity, and this is set to continue as they continue to scale their business whilst always retaining their core culture and values.

The opportunity:

To join a highly acquisitive, private equity backed leading brand, in a highly visible and critical senior finance role.

The role:

Reporting to the Head of Finance, the Financial Controller will involve being jointly responsible for the accounts function and the day-to-day smooth running of the department. This position manages six members of staff, in addition to providing support to other areas of the business and assisting with project work.

This is a truly exciting time to join the business; our client will shortly move to a new purpose-built facility in Aberdeen, bringing their team together in a first-class facility. They have ambitious growth plans with an aim to double the size of the business in the next three to five years.

To meet their growth targets, our client is looking for a hands-on, professional accountant who is also a first class people manager to continue to lead and develop the team. The ability to undertake project work, whilst focusing on process improvement and maximising efficiencies makes this both a challenging and highly rewarding role.

This represents a unique and unrivalled opportunity for an ambitious finance professional to make a real difference, with a much loved and respected brand, offering first class career development.

Who are we looking for:

To be considered you must be a professionally qualified accountant with previous experience in a similar role. You must be a people person, with the ability to manage, mentor and develop a team. You will also have a strong customer service ethos, aligned to first class communication and interpersonal skills. The successful individual will be flexible and adaptable with the ability to juggle all areas of involvement and creativity, to think laterally in problem solving.

This is truly a unique opportunity to join a business who constantly delivers on growth targets, whilst fostering an inclusive culture.
