Financial Controller - Aberdeen

Vero has been exclusively appointed by a private equity backed technology company in Aberdeen to recruit a Financial Controller. Unique opportunity for a professionally qualified accountant to join a high growth, private equity backed technology company, acting as a trusted partner to the CFO and CEO to drive financial performance. Based in Aberdeen but with an international focus, the Financial Controller will provide accounting and financial support for our clients growing business, working with the CEO on a daily basis to drive financial performance across all group companies.

 

Our client is looking to speak with fully qualified accountants who are tenacious, self-starters with a high degree of attention to detail and accuracy. Consideration will be given to applicants who have qualified during the past few of years and who are looking to take on a generalist accounting role in a small but fast growing business. Consideration will also be given to applicants who are accustomed to working at senior accountant and manager level, looking to work in a more dynamic environment with a truly cutting edge, fully patented product.

 

From its start up in 2017 our client has expanded rapidly and they now support their own clients around the world, both on and offshore. This includes mainland Europe, Asia, and Australasia as well as a significant presence in both North and South America. Backed by a leading private equity firm with a track record of success across the energy industry our client has significant plans to grow their business, led by a high calibre management team.

 

The Financial Controller will be responsible for the day to day running of the company. Applicants must be comfortable being hands on, from looking after invoicing and credit control to the production of accounts, as well as acting as a trusted business partner to the CEO and CFO.

 

Overview:

 

  • Create monthly management accounts for the Board providing incisive commentary on the financial performance of the group companies (Consolidation and multi-currency experience is essential)
  • Prepare statutory accounts and liaise with external auditors
  • Prepare annual budgets and quarterly reforecasts
  • Create monthly invoices – ensure full compliance with tax authorities in a range of countries for sales taxes, withholding taxes and statutory returns
  • Manage the Group’s cashflows, including chasing invoices for payment from customers worldwide
  • Review and improve our accounting systems and processes, including the migration from SAGE to Odoo
  • Manage the monthly payroll for the team
