Vero has been exclusively engaged by a successful private equity backed service company to recruit an experienced Financial Controller to be based at their head office in Aberdeen.

Role profile:
Our client is seeking to further strengthen its finance team with the appointment of a Financial Controller. This is a newly created role, reporting to the Finance Director with responsibility for all locations. The role can be developed and expanded depending on the individual appointed.
Responsibilities:
- Line management responsibility for a team of three Management Accountants
- Preparation and review of the monthly management accounts pack and board papers including P&L, Balance Sheet and cashflow analysis
- Weekly revenue and cashflow forecasting
- Annual budgeting and quarterly reforecasting
- Control of working capital (stock, debtors and creditors)
- Tax compliance (including VAT) for the UK, Singapore, US, UAE and Canada
- Statutory reporting including liaising with external advisors
- Payroll and pension administration
- Development and maintenance of accounting policies and procedures whilst continually looking for improvements in underlying processes, systems and procedures
- Ad-hoc tasks and projects as directed by the FD and senior management
Person spec:
- Qualified chartered accountant, ideally trained in the profession with industry, secondment or accounts preparation experience
- Working knowledge of IFRS preferred but not essential
- Ability to operate on own initiative as well as part of a small team and to work well with all levels of management
- Ability to work to tight deadlines whilst maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience using integrated ERP systems, such as Oracle, preferred but not essential
- Advanced IT skills including Excel and PowerPoint
