The role:
The Group Financial Accountant reports directly to the Group Reporting Manager and will support them in delivering insightful, accurate and timely financial reporting and maintaining a strong financial control environment. The successful candidate will work with the business and other areas of finance including operational finance, financial planning, tax and treasury, as well as have significant interaction with the Group’s internal and external auditors.
Financial reporting:
• Assist in the preparation and delivery of the financial statements and other associated financial sections of the Group’s half year and annual report
• Work with the local and international organisations on the delivery of a comprehensive and efficient monthly financial reporting close process and associated reporting
• Work closely with the Group Systems Accountant to maintain and improve the Group’s financial accounting system and reporting processes
• Contributing to a strong internal control environment including developing assurance processes
• Technical accounting support and advice
Statutory reporting:
• Preparation of the statutory accounts for Group entities and ensure statutory reporting is completed in accordance with IFRS, Company Law and corporate accounting policies and to the agreed timetables
Ad-hoc:
• M&A and corporate finance support/due diligence work
• Finance process and disclosure improvement projects
• Continuous improvements to financial models/ workings
