Vero Recruitment has been exclusively appointed to hire a Group Statutory Reporting Manager on an interim basis to cover maternity leave, based in Aberdeenshire.
Overview
Our client is a prominent, privately held group with an incredibly rich heritage. Backed by private equity, the business operates across more than 100 countries and employs around 1,000 people.
The Opportunity
Following a significant period of change and the appointment of a new high-calibre finance team, a 12-month fixed-term contract has arisen for a Group Statutory Reporting Manager. Starting during October, this role offers the chance to work closely with the Senior Finance Leadership Team and play a pivotal part in strengthening statutory compliance, financial reporting, and group consolidation processes. You’ll be joining a motivated, professional team where you can make a tangible impact while gaining exposure to a complex, international group.
The Role
You will lead the preparation of annual consolidated statutory accounts, ensuring compliance with reporting requirements and supporting external audits across the Group’s entities.
Responsibilities will also include:
- Preparing consolidation entries, eliminations, and statutory disclosures
- Coordinating all subsidiary audits and managing the relationship with external auditors
- Preparing monthly and quarterly financial reports for the Group’s banking partners
- Performing monthly consolidations and statutory adjustments
- Supporting budget and forecast consolidation, including balance sheet and cashflow
- Owning and maintaining the Group’s accounting and finance manual
- Acting as subject matter expert for UK GAAP and technical accounting issues
- Contributing to the implementation of a new consolidation system
- Supervising and developing two direct reports
Who are we looking for:
We are looking for a professionally qualified accountant with a strong audit background and a high level of technical accounting expertise. You should bring proven experience in statutory reporting, group consolidation, and working with external auditors, ideally within complex, international organisations. A collaborative mindset, strong communication skills, and the ability to operate in a fast-paced environment are essential.
What’s on offer:
This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of a high-profile role within a global, private equity-backed business. The position is offered on a 12-month fixed-term basis, starting in October, with the chance to work alongside an impressive senior leadership team in a period of growth and transformation. You’ll gain valuable international exposure, technical breadth, and the opportunity to shape future statutory reporting processes.
