Vero has been exclusively appointed by Aberdeen Sports Village (ASV) to recruit a passionate, experienced accountant into the role of Head of Finance.

Who is our client:
ASV is an exciting partnership between Aberdeen City Council and the University of Aberdeen. ASV opened its doors in 2009 representing an investment of £28million into our city and promoting health and wellbeing into the community. In 2014 following a further investment of £22m ASV expanded and opened its Aquatics Centre.
ASV features a 135m indoor running straight, indoor football pitch, sports hall, four squash courts, gym and two studios, a performance weights studio and indoor cycling studio. There is a 400m outdoor running track as well as a football pitch and a hockey pitch. It hosts a 50-meter Olympic standard pool and a 25-meter pool with diving boards up to 10 meters as well as a sauna, steam room and two cafes.

Who are we looking for:
Applicants are sought from qualified accountants with a real passion for delivery. Previous experience of charity based accounting is valuable but not essential. Perhaps you have worked in a commercial organisation, but seek greater meaning, purpose, and a fantastic culture. Perhaps you are working in private practice and considering if a highly progressive first move into industry is right for you. If so, we would love to hear from you.
The role:
The Head of Finance will be responsible for the day-to-day smooth running of ASV’s finance function. This position will play a key role in helping achieve ASV’s strategy, vision and values.
As well as being organised and a confident communicator, you will have management experience in a busy environment and understand the importance of being a team player. You will bring enthusiasm, a passion for the job and a ‘can-do’ attitude.
As a member of the ASV Leadership Team, you will provide strategic and operational support and direction, ensuring that there are effective controls and risk management frameworks in place to support the work of the organisation. You will identify and adopt best practices and innovations, and lead through change in a business with evolving needs and challenges, and which will always strive for continual improvement.
