Vero has been appointed by a leading international business who operate in the food production sector to recruit an experienced Senior Accountant. The role is based in Aberdeenshire and our client offers both flexible and hybrid working.

Who are we looking for:
The position of Senior Accountant suits a professionally qualified accountant with previous experience of working in a challenging and stimulating role in industry. You must be a self-starter with the ability to work autonomously, acting as a partner to a highly experienced Financial Controller. You will be an empathetic team player, someone who fits in seamlessly into a small and tight-knit team.
A future desire and ambition to take on the Financial Controller role is required.
The role:
The Senior Accountant will work closely with the Financial Controller and the rest of the Finance team to ensure that reporting deadlines are met and accounting records are accurate.
The Senior Accountant will assist with project work to support the business growth, simplifying and streamlining reporting. The Senior Accountant also will gain an understanding of the internal reporting role and be able to cover that role.
This is a highly visible role in a truly market leading business. As such, the Senior Accountant will interact regularly with the senior management team across the company, both locally and internationally.
The Senior Accountant will be expected to interrogate the numbers to seek meaning, which will then be used by Senior Management to assist in key strategic decision making.
