Senior Economist - Aberdeen

Vero has been exclusively appointed by a leading upstream integrated energy company to recruit an ambitious, analytical, highly numerate individual into this newly created Senior Economist role.

In addition, our client is creating innovative solutions for the energy transition through their New Energy division. Our client is looking for an experienced economist - a career hungry, ambitious individual with first class data analysis and numeracy skills. The role:

 

To enable the business to meet its growth plans our client is looking to hire a Senior Economist to join the team and to work across their portfolio of existing operated assets and new developments, including New Energy.

 

The role is sponsored by the Group’s CFO, and will be based in Aberdeen although our client supports hybrid work. With ample opportunity to make your mark, this role will see you enjoy a high degree of influence and responsibility as you operate at the heart of the group’s decision making and analytical support.

 

Duties:

 

• Provision of general economic analytical support to the business (including the scoping and screening of potential growth targets)

• Support of life of field asset strategies and new energy business

• Preparation, analysis and presentation of economics results to decision makers

• Contribute to the timely production of the group’s annual business plan in relation to North Sea assets

• Evaluation of reserves portfolio in conjunction with the technical teams and head office

• Evaluation of tax and it’s impact on the business

• Maintenance of economic models for UK assets
