Vero has been engaged exclusively by Walker’s Shortbread to recruit an ambitious and inquisitive accountant into the newly created role of Senior FP&A Analyst.
It was over a hundred years ago that the Walker family started baking shortbread in the Speyside village of Aberlour where they remain to this day.
Joseph Walker founded the company when he opened his village bakery in 1898; now it is his grandchildren and great grandchildren that continue the tradition of fine baking that he started.
In fact, the founder’s personal guarantee is still marked on every pack to confirm that Walker’s products are made with only the finest ingredients obtainable. Though the Walker family have added many new products to their range during the last century, each and every one holds to those original values of quality and natural goodness.
Who are we looking for:
You will probably be a qualified accountant, but you don’t have to have previous experience working in a similar role or in the same industry. We are looking for passion; for someone who wants to get behind the numbers and add real value. A strong interest in data analysis, as well as first class communication and interpersonal skills, to build deep and fulfilling relationships with a range of stakeholders is essential.
You may have recently qualified as an accountant in practice and be wondering “what next”? Or, you may have developed a range of transferable skills in industry and could be open to a business focused, forward looking accounting role where you can really add value and help to drive a business forward.

The role:
The Senior FP&A Analyst will support the FP&A Manager’s responsibilities as the department evolves to focus forward and provides internal customers with timely, accurate financial information in a format that will facilitate proactive decision making.
The team is responsible for producing the annual budget in conjunction with the company’s strategic plan. The team will also facilitate longer-term financial plans and provide periodic in-year forecasting to aid senior management in decision making.
