Senior Management Accountant - Aberdeen

Vero has been appointed by a major infrastructure operator in Aberdeen to recruit a driven, tenacious and focused professional into the newly created role of Senior Management Accountant. Who are we looking for:

 

You will ideally be a professionally qualified accountant with at least two years post-qualifying experience. You must have an impeccable eye for detail, have a tenacious go-getter attitude, and be looking to add a great deal of value to your next role. You will have the ability to think on your feet and to work autonomously, yet be open to learning and development.

The role:

 

The main purpose of the role is to support the Financial Controller and Senior Leadership Team in relation to financial reporting, business analysis and corporate governance.

 

Duties:

  • Lead the preparation of monthly management reporting including detailed variance analysis and commentary around earnings and cash flows
  • Management of forward looking financial and operational reporting including planning, budgeting and forecasting
  • Managing communication and data transfer between Group Finance and outsourced finance provider
  • Ensure that monthly journals are prepared accurately and posted correctly into the ledgers
  • Responsible for tracking banking activities, ensuring interest payments due are recorded correctly and payment terms are met
  • Act as initial contact point for Group Audit and ensure that required supporting documentation is uploaded in a timely manner
  • Manage and drive procedural improvements ensuring transactional team are operating efficiently
  • There is an expectation of close interaction and collaboration with the wider leadership team including exposure to external investors with the opportunity to work on a range of ad hoc projects
