Vero has been engaged by a global oil service company to recruit a Tax Reporting Manager. Our client is headquartered in Aberdeen but they are open to considering applications from across the UK on a fully remote basis.

Reporting to the Head of Tax, the Tax Reporting Manager is a key member of the head office tax team, responsible for managing all tax accounting and reporting activity within the Head Office and managing the Group’s relationship with the external tax auditors.


The role is also responsible for developing and managing other tax processes such as transfer pricing models, budgets and forecasting, deferred taxes and managing the overseas compliance timetable with the external provider.


Areas of responsibility:


Making sure that tax reporting processes remain compliant with IFRS and international / UK tax reporting requirements

Documenting key process and maintaining these to ensure they remain up to date

Explaining and/or providing training to key Group and Local staff on their input into the Tax Reporting process

Continuous process improvements of tax reporting processes

Managing compliance with monthly and annual tax reporting timetables

Reconciliation of actual tax charges and payments to budget, explaining key variances

Ensuring integrity and accuracy of the tax risk register

Representing Group Tax at various Finance forums

Supervising one placement student


Who are we looking for:


Professionally qualified essential

Accountancy practice experience desirable

Relevant industry experience beneficial

Strong accounting skills, with a particular focus on tax accounting and reporting

Strong understanding of UK tax, either with an awareness of international tax issues or a willingness to learn

Strong communicator with the ability to deal with a variety of people across all levels

Willingness to challenge in a robust and professional manner
